About Us – Ghumakkadi Foundation

At Ghumakkadi Foundation, we believe learning goes beyond books. True education comes from experiences, exploration, and connecting with the world around us. What started as a small community initiative with children in local neighborhoods has today grown into a registered NGO that blends travel, informal education, and social development to empower children and youth.

Our journey began when a simple picnic to a nearby park turned into an eye-opening learning experience. Children collected leaves, stones, and other objects, shared stories, and connected their findings with classroom learning. This sparked the idea that education should not be confined to four walls but should be lived, felt, and experienced. From weekly park visits to exploring Delhi’s heritage sites, our group soon grew to over a hundred enthusiastic children and youth. After nearly a decade of community-led learning, we formalized our efforts into Ghumakkadi Foundation to expand our impact.
